Why you should care about LG V40 ThinQ (My Thoughts)

Hello,
Welcome, October 2018.
When it comes to flagship smartphones, LG always goes unnoticed but from past three models of their flagships LG G6, LG V30 & LG G7 ThinQ. Looks like LG is trying really hard to get back in the map. Well, did it happen?
Kinda yeah! but there is still a long way to go to reach the Apples and Samsungs of the Smartphone flagship world.

To start off with the pros, This year LG has a lot of em.

Display
Flagship phones come with a huge price so buyers who are willing to pay that hefty amount of money expect a few checklists to be checked, one of them is display. Even Some midrange smartphones these days come with an OLED display, but LG flagships didn't come with an OLED display even with the previous flagship of LG, but finally, LG has put a P-OLED panel on top of LG V40 ThinQ with a 6.4-inch display with 77.1 screen to body ratio in 537ppi.

SD card slot
I know, I know!
The internal flash memory of a phone is faster than SD card but there are a few things I could use extra storage, to store my movie collection, music collection and camera roll.
Even I wouldn't prefer apps to be installed on SD card, but the inclusion of an SD card slot is good. It's 2018 most of the smartphones, almost all of the smartphone companies are removing SD card slots and increasing their capacity of phones but in spite of that an SD card slot would be really really good and helpful.
It's a good thing that LG still keeps the SD card slot poor people like me, a huge Thumbs up to LG for that.

Cameras
Speaking of pros, a camera is the biggest Pro of this phone, really!
This is the first phone to come out with 5 cameras! Yeah, you heard me right! 5 cameras! 3 primary rear-facing cameras and two front-facing cameras.
You might ask why 5 cameras, well here I am to answer that.
Now let's talk about those three primary cameras.
Before, if you want a smartphone with telephoto and Wide Angle lenses you had to buy two phones.
But LG V40 thinQ has em both.
A standard 12 megapixel, 27mm camera with f/1.5 aperture.
An Ultrawide 16 megapixel, 16mm camera with f/1.9 aperture.
A telephoto 12 megapixel, 52mm camera with a f/2.4 aperture with optical zoom and optical image stabilization.

now that we've covered primary cameras let's jump into secondary cameras
A standard 8 megapixel, 26mm with f/1.9 aperture.
A wide 5 megapixel, 21mm with f/2.2 aperture

Video shooting capabilities of this phone is 2160p@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/240fps, 24bit/192kHz steroids sound rec, HDR video, gyro-EIS.

Battery
Snapdragon 845 power efficient chipset so I guess 3300 would be sufficient for a single day use, but the price range of this phone is close enough to Samsung Galaxy note 9 which has 4000 mAh battery, I'm not complaining but 4000 mAh battery should be the standard in flagship smartphones.

The only complaint I have which I'm sure I am nitpicking is that in 2018 this phone still comes with 8.1 Oreo, as we all know the track record of LG at least it should have come with latest Android version Android Pie.

My first Gaming and Editing PC build

Not bad for a guy whos building a PC for the first time right?
Well, Every part of this PC was picked out to meet my requirements,
not just performance and productivity-wise,
Looks of this PC was also a huge consideration to me, so I made
sure this PC should be best of both worlds.
Performance as well as looks.

Processor
For the processor, my selection was Intel 7th GEN Pentium, G4560
The reason for choosing this CPU instead of an i3 was its got
hyperthreading which previous generations of Pentium processors
lacked and it is  3000, cheaper than i3. So why not.
And its performance is only 10% lower than i3. ₹ 3000 for 10
percent boost in the speed? After doing a lot of research. This was
the best bang for the buck processor for me.

Motherboard
For the motherboard.
I wanted something that's not too cheap and I wanted something that
had at least a little bit of future upgradability. So I went with Asus
Prime B250M-Plus
It is kind of a mid-range motherboard but the things this motherboard
had to offer at this price point are great.
It’s got four DDR4 RAM slots at 2400MHz speeds and has support for
upgradability up to 64gig ram.
It’s got two M.2 slots and it also has Intel Optane support. So I really
didn’t want to cheap out on the motherboard since it’s the main part of
a PC.

Ram
As of ram, my choice was Corsair 8 gig at 2400mhz speeds
single stick, yeah 16gig is a minimum requirement these days but as
of now due to my budget constraint and ram prices going up like a
rocket I'm going with 8gig RAM for now but in future, I have 3 more
slots to upgrade my ram.

GPU
For GPU what I got in my budget was really awesome, for a
decent 1080p gaming with a decent FPS and for 1080p Video
rendering this was the best, my choice of GPU is Gigabyte's Nvidia
GeForce GTX 1050ti Low Profile with 4GB VRAM. Frankly speaking, I
was a bit reluctant about this GPU but this GPU what it has to offer at
this price point is awesome. Not a single lag in any games I’ve played
so far Gaming and benchmark review coming soon in near future so
keep posted.

Storage
For storage instead of relying just on a mechanical hard
the drive which would have been a cheaper solution.
I added an SSD for a boot drive for the increase in boot speed and
loading speed in games. So I went with a Kingston 120 gig SSD for
BOOT drive.
For extra storage to download my steam library and copy the shot
footage and my video library I added a 1TB Seagate Barracuda hard
drive. In the future, I might add an M.2 SSD as a boot drive for more speed
and An another Hard drive for extra storage.

Case
For the case, I really fell in love with this mid-tower Cooler Master's Masterbox lite 5 which is a budget oriented case but doesn’t look like one. With acrylic see-through side panel and a front panel which is tinted and looks stealthy. Front panel I/O has two USB 3 ports and audio in and out ports. The case has room for an ample amount of airflow. This case comes with a single 120mm fan preinstalled in the rear for exhaust. It has room for mounting either three 120mm fans or two 140mm fans at the front of the case. This case is awesome, right?

PSU
This is where I really tried to save a lot of money and got an
Artis VIP500 Gold which I was really really reluctant at first, but when
I got it turned out to be a good power supply and really silent one with
a 120mm fan for cooling. I was surprised
Down the line, if I want to upgrade any parts of my PC I would surely
change my PSU and get a Modular PSU with a higher voltage with a gold or platinum rating for performance escalation and for the ease of
the cable management.

Keyboard & Mouse
For keyboard and mouse, I clearly didn't want to
spend much but I wanted something really reliable and durable so I
went with this Cooler Master Devastator 3 which is a really good
gaming keyboard and mouse combo for budget gamers. This
keyboard and mouse has 7 changeable lights which look really cool
and gives that Gaming look for Budget gamers without reducing your
wallet’s weight.

Speakers
For speakers, I got this Logitech Z120 Stereo speaker
(Black and White) Actually, I wanted to get a sound bar or something
or good gaming speakers but this was right in my budget saw an
online review and got these... They are decent for their price actually
pretty good for the price and it is easily audible across the room and
there is nothing fancy about sound quality like bass boost or
something, it is flat and it is decent for the price.

Looks & aesthetic:
Speaking of looks and aesthetic, as I was building a gaming PC I
wanted it to look like one
The reason I went with this case is I certainly I wanted a case with
see-through side panel and I was searching for one that's when I
came across this Cooler Master Masterbox lite 5 which was just
launched, without any second thought I ordered this case keeping
RGB lighting and RGB fans in mind, I have future plans for lighting
this build with RGB strips or RGB fans, For now, there is no
overheating issues in this build so no requirement for fans.
Keeping looks in mind the next item I selected for this build is
keyboard and mouse when it comes to the gaming build RGB is a
must. So I selected this Keyboard mouse combo from Cooler Master,

Looks great, doesn't it?

Reason for this build:
I have two main reasons to build this PC
Gaming
Video editing
As I was starting a YouTube channel, I wanted a PC to edit my videos for this channel.
So I wasn't sure if I wanted a Windows PC or an Apple Machine. but one thing I realized was MAC was expensive and I wanted a PC in which I can game too. So Mac was out of the way and I decided to build a PC.
I didn't know anything about PC building, Never in my life, I've built a PC.
I even thought of getting a prebuilt PC but like every person in this internet era I went to the Internet searching whether to build a PC or to get a prebuilt PC, but the moment I watched a PC building video I realized that I'm gonna be building a PC myself according to my needs.

Speaking of Needs
Another requirement for me Gaming,
I was always a gamer from my childhood.
As years passed after school and college, it all started to drift off.
But I've always been gamer from the heart.
I am a gamer and I always will be so this was another reason to
choose windows over mac.

Benchmarks:
So the performance-wise honestly speaking this PC exceeded my
expectations see it for yourself... As of benchmarks goes
Cinebench’s Open GL score is 96.08 fps and CPU score is 374cb
Our open CL scores in Geekbench is 85501 and our core speeds in

Geekbench is single core scored 3862 and multicore score was 6763

Future plans for this build:
Well, keeping the budget in mind I had to cut down a lot, but down the
line, I have plans for this build.
Soon I’ll be upgrading my ram with an addition of another 8gig to
make it at least 16 gig which is bare minimum these days to boost the
rendering speeds and overall improvement in performance.
One more thing I really want to upgrade is My CPU with a core
i5-7500 or core i7-7600u for that extra cores and power. Since my
board doesn't support newest 8th gen Intel processors and doesn’t
have overclocking capabilities I have to go with 7th gen processors.
Non-K version of Intel processors.
Speaking of upgrades I will be adding a very important upgrade to
this build that is RGB... HAHA yeah, RGB is very important in a build
like this surely will be upgrading that too

I've made a video of the same in my youtube channel guys check that out too
